Hi, I’m Chevy

I have been shooting professionally in Halifax (and surrounding area) for four years, operating on the philosophy that a photo is not just an image but a record. It is a moment frozen in time; a memory made permanent.

Capturing people in their element, in their happiest moments, and looking their best is my passion. If you have a good angle (and I know you have many) I will find it. I’ve gained a reputation for making subjects feel comfortable and disarmed in front of my lens; I’m light, conversational, casual, and can communicate what the camera needs without being commanding. I know when to crack a joke and when not to. In addition, I’ve often received the coveted photographer’s praise of having made a subject look “more beautiful than they’ve ever looked.” I’m not sure I believe it, but I’ll happily repeat it.
